Beware of Phone Spoofing - Feb 2025
Protect Yourself from Scammers
Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and one tactic they’re using is phone spoofing – calling you while pretending to be NGFCU. These fraudulent calls might display our official phone number on your caller ID, making them seem legitimate. Protect yourself with these important tips:
- Know What We’ll Never Ask For
- NGFCU will never ask for your password, PIN, or one-time verification codes over the phone. If someone does, it’s a scam.
- Don’t Give Out Personal Information
- Never share sensitive information like your account number, social security number, or login credentials over the phone, especially if you didn’t initiate the call.
- Hang Up and Call Us Directly
- If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from NGFCU, hang up immediately and call us directly at 800.633.2848. This ensures you’re speaking with a trusted NGFCU representative.
- Be Skeptical of Urgent or Threatening Requests
- Scammers often try to pressure you into acting quickly by creating a sense of urgency or fear. Take a step back, stay calm, and verify the information before taking any action.
Your security is our priority. If you suspect a fraudulent call or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Call 800.633.2848 or email fraud@ngfcu.us.
Stay vigilant and protect your personal information.
