Beware of Phone Spoofing - Feb 2025

Protect Yourself from Scammers

Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and one tactic they’re using is phone spoofing – calling you while pretending to be NGFCU. These fraudulent calls might display our official phone number on your caller ID, making them seem legitimate. Protect yourself with these important tips:

  1. Know What We’ll Never Ask For
    1. NGFCU will never ask for your password, PIN, or one-time verification codes over the phone. If someone does, it’s a scam.
  2. Don’t Give Out Personal Information
    1. Never share sensitive information like your account number, social security number, or login credentials over the phone, especially if you didn’t initiate the call.
  3. Hang Up and Call Us Directly
    1. If you receive a suspicious call claiming to be from NGFCU, hang up immediately and call us directly at 800.633.2848. This ensures you’re speaking with a trusted NGFCU representative.
  4. Be Skeptical of Urgent or Threatening Requests
    1. Scammers often try to pressure you into acting quickly by creating a sense of urgency or fear. Take a step back, stay calm, and verify the information before taking any action.

Your security is our priority. If you suspect a fraudulent call or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Call 800.633.2848 or email fraud@ngfcu.us.

Stay vigilant and protect your personal information.
